5K Series Run to Benefit Two Animal Welfare Organizations

For the Family, Running, Benefit/Fundraiser

The 3rd Annual Racing 4Rescues 5K will be run as a three race series in 2018 with the first race taking place on March 17, 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina at McAlpine Creek Park, 8711 Monroe Rd. The race starts at 9:00 a.m. Each event in the series will feature a Fun Run in addition to the 5K. There are cash prizes for the overall winners of the series, as well as custom medals for the individual race winners. All three races are designed to be animal friendly, and runners/walkers are encouraged to bring their animals if they like. The three courses are relatively flat and offer competitive runners the opportunity to beat their personal best times and share in the $1,100 in prize money. Beneficiaries of the two events are Piedmont Animal Rescue and Rescue Ranch. Net proceeds will be dispersed equally. “We are very excited about bringing these three animal welfare non-profit organizations together,” said Jason Benge, Executive Director and Founder of Piedmont Animal Rescue. “We intend to grow this event annually and continue to raise funds for these three important agencies.” Every participant will receive a dry-fit unisex shirt, and each race will have the same shirt and design. The cost to participate is $30 per race or $75 for all three races. The cost of the Fun Run is $10 (no shirt included), and everyone receives a special award. Everyone that registers for all three 5K races will also receive a special award. Same day race registration will be available The second race will be held at Rescue Ranch in Statesville on April 21, and the final race will be held at The War Memorial in Mooresville on May 19.
