Art & Soul of South End

Community Event, Craft Show, Food/Tasting, For the Family, Social Event, Fair/Festival

Art & Soul of South End is the neighborhood's spring festival- a celebration of community, craft and creativity in the heart of Charlotte. This year's festival will take place on Saturday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. across a two-block stretch on Camden Road with many activities planned along the Rail Trail. Coordinated by Historic South End and Charlotte Center City Partners, the Art & Soul street festival is a chance to enjoy the best of what the neighborhood has to offer. Everything for which South End is known will be represented: makers of every kind, artists, musicians, and culinarians will be hosting demonstrations, sharing their products, and meeting community members. Rail Trail yoga, boot camps, community art and other activities are designed to engage festival attendees and make them a part of the festival. Art & Soul of South End began in the early 1990s as a block party put on by local businesses and has evolved into a destination event for the South End neighborhood and community alike. With 6,000 attendees and 65 artists and vendors expected, this year's festival numbers look to top those in years past. Camden Road will be closed to car traffic between Park Avenue and East-West Boulevard from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to allow set-up for the street festival. Festival attendees are asked to not to park in the Price’s Chicken Coop parking lot at 1614 Camden Road. Residents and business patrons will be able to access parking for Camden addresses from the garage and parking entrances on West Boulevard, Kingston and Park Ave.
