Benefit Concert for Local Teacher Bryan Long

Benefit/Fundraiser

Charlotte Catholic High School will host a benefit concert in order to raise funds for Bryan Long. Long is the Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School chorus teacher, currently on extended leave due to his continuing battle with Fabry’s disease. One side effect of Fabry’s is kidney failure. Long must have dialysis three times per week for the remainder of his life unless he can procure a new kidney. The concert on Sunday, April 22, from 2-4pm in the high school gymnasium, is an opportunity to raise funds to assist Long with his medical bills. Lifeshare of the Carolinas will also be on hand to offer educational information on organ donation. The musical lineup for the event is a mix of Long’s former students and local acts, donating their time and talent to this cause. Performers scheduled to appear include local folk Indie singer/songwriter Kyle Forman, acoustic soloist Riley Byrnes, Ben Iuliano, Christina Stevens, members of the CCHS Choirs, and Mike Hager, featuring Reverend O and the Hellhounds. The CCHS Theater department will also perform a sneak peak scene from the upcoming spring musical PETER PAN There is no entry fee; however, love offerings will be collected during the event. Donations are also tax deductible through the CCHS Alumni Association. Emcee’s are 2014 CCHS graduate Melody Hager and Jeremy Kuhn, a CCHS alum and English teacher at the school.
