Free Seminar "The Dangers of Social Media and Your Children"

Talks/Lectures

Most teens have an online profile and use some form of social media in their everyday lives. While there are plenty of good things about the internet, there are also plenty of risks and things kids and teens should avoid to keep themselves and their families safe from cyber-criminals, bullies and predators who lurk in the vast dark web. SellState Select Real Estate in Mooresville is proud to present a FREE community seminar "The Dangers of Social Media and Your Children" on Tuesday, May 21 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 N. Main Street in downtown Mooresville. Cindy Wind, MS, a cyber-crime and social media expert will be discussing secret apps children are using today to hide their activity in addition to "best practices" that parents should consider when dealing with their children's social media use. Susan is the Founder of Parents kNOmore (www.parentsknowmore.com) and a college professor who has taught, designed and implemented criminal justice courses throughout the U.S. for the past 15 years. She conducts research and offers programs to local businesses on social media awareness and cyber-bullying.
