Bocce Ball Anyone

The Town of Mooresville has new bocce ball courts at Bellingham Park and we want to put these courts to good use. Not only is bocce ball a Senior Games event, it’s a ton of fun and good exercise. The Senior Center has a volunteer that is willing to lead a group of seniors who would like to learn how to play the game or who already know and just enjoy playing. The game would be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30-10:30 a.m. If you would be interested, please call the Senior Center and have your name added to the interest list.

Want to learn how to avoid becoming a victim of investment fraud? Join us on Tues., July 17 at 11 a.m. at the South Iredell Senior Center and learn how to recognize and avoid possible investment scams. You will also learn how to spot the red flags of potential investment fraud, learn how to do your due diligence, and the questions to ask your investment professional. This seminar will help you to understand what to do if you become a victim of an investment scam. Information will also be presented on how you can register your advance health care directives with the Secretary of State’s office so that you or your caregiver can access them 24/7/365 from anywhere in the world. Presented by John Maron, Director of the Investor Protection and Education Services Division of the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State. Jump Start Your Summer with Your Cell Phone or Computer

If you need help learning the features of your cell phone or computer, take advantage of this FREE one-on-one tutoring. That’s right, FREE help! A group of volunteer teens from the South Iredell High School will be coming to the Senior Center on Wed., July 18, 10-noon to help older individuals learn the features on their electronic devices. To receive this help, you must preregister by calling the Senior Center at 704-662-3337.

Christmas in July Santa’s Elves Workshop

The Senior Center will hold its first Elves workshop this year on Thurs., July 19, 9-noon. We are recruiting creative and talented elves to set the stage for the workshops to be successful. There will be one workshop held each month from now until November to get ready for the grand opening on Sat., Nov. 3. Donations are needed. For more information call the Senior Center.

Summertime Dance

Bring a friend or come find one at the Senior Center on Fri., July 20, 5:30 - 8 p.m. Enjoy food, fun, fellowship, and friends as we dance and enjoy time together. The theme colors this month are red, white and blue. Everyone is invited to the festivities whether you dance or not. The dance is open to all seniors age 60+ and their spouse. Please bring your favorite meal item to share. Please be sure to bring serving containers and utensils. Admission is free.

Niagara Falls Trip July 30-Aug. 4
