Evening Nature Stroll

Take family night to the trails! Bring the gang out to explore the great outdoors with a Naturalist. This will be a slow-paced hike with stops along the way to investigate our surroundings. Reedy Outdoor Survival School - Primitive Tools

Nature

72 hours has passed and you have not been rescued. You have shelter and fire, but your hunger is getting the best of you. Discover basic tools you can create in order to hunt for food. Using sticks from nature, you can create a fishing or throwing spear or various hunting clubs. This program requires adult supervision as participants will be using a knife. Come to three R.O.S.S. sessions and earn your badge! Must call 980-314-1119 to register. Ages 8 and up $10 2-3:30pm

Full Moon Hike

Immerse yourself in the magic of a Full Moon in the Nature Preserve. We will open ourselves to this energy as we explore the trails after hours. Hummingbird Festival

Be amazed by Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds who are ready to make a 500+ mile journey back to Central America for the winter. This will be a send-off celebration for all migratory birds who spend the summer days in Charlotte. Guest speakers, nature walks, food trucks, games, and community organizations will be sharing fun activities to better understand our role in the natural world. Ornithologist Susan Campbell will be sharing her experiences documenting Hummingbirds and their long round trips across America. All Ages FREE
