Charlotte Symphony: Rachmaninoff Symphonic Dances

Classical

Lukáš Vondrácek returns to the Charlotte Symphony stage for Prokofiev's warm and vivid piano concerto, a complement to the lush sounds of Rachmaninoff's final work. An orchestral "foxtrot" from contemporary composer John Adams rounds out this evening of dances.

So You Think You Can Bark

Loosely based on the hit TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance," our pet-testants have been paired with a force-free trainer to learn a cool act to be performed and judged live on stage. All proceeds to benefit the Medical Fund at Stand For Animals Veterinary Clinic, formerly Spay Neuter Charlotte, a local non-profit veterinary office with 3 clinics in the Greater Charlotte area.

Tosco Music Party

Tosco Music is a resident company of Blumenthal Performing Arts and produces five Tosco Music Parties (TMP’s) each year. A TMP is a music variety showcase of an eclectic mix of music styles by approximately 15 acts performing one or two songs each. Every TMP is a completely unique live music experience that also engages the audience in singalongs throughout the evening led by John Tosco and the TMP House Band & Singalong Choir. Featured performers for TMP on February 2 include Hawaiian slack-key guitarist Patrick Landeza, Grammy-award-winning songwriters The DonJuans, treasured local and regional talent like Mercury Carter and Chatham Rabbits, and more!

Bert Kreischer

Stand Up Comedy

Florida native Bert Kreischer is a standup comic who performs to sellout crowds across the country. He also hosted the Travel Channel's "Trip Flip," an upcoming new season of the hit "Bert the Conqueror," and previously hosted "Hurt Bert." He's been a regular guest on "The Joe Rogan Experience" and "The Rachael Ray Show" and has appeared on "The Late Night with David Letterman" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." His one-hour special "Comfortably Dumb" appeared on Comedy Central and his book "Life of the Party, Stories of a Perpetual Man-Child" shares the hilarious and outrageous stories that define his comedy and exemplify what has made him one of the best storytellers of his generation.

He's also had his own Netflix special ("Incorrigible") and been seen quite a bit on Comedy Central: the 2015 celebrity roast of Justin Bieber, his special "White Male, Black Comic," and "Workaholics."
